| Hailing from Vancouver, Nickelback is made up of
guitarist Ryan Peake, two brothers: lead singer/guitarist Chad Kroeger and
bassist Mike Kroeger, and Ryan Vikedal on drums. Chad writes most of the
lyrics, while all four members collaborated on the music. Their latest album Silverside Up was recorded with veteran rock producer Rick Parashar of Pearl Jam, at Vancouver s Green House studio where they did their first album The State. The name Nickelback according to Mike Kroeger, is from working at Starbucks Coffee in Vancouver where coffee was $1.45 he would continually give a customer a nickelback (lame story, huh?) They have toured with everyone from Creed, Silverchair, and Everclear, to Stabbing Westward and Oleander, the band already has a huge following in Canada and with How You Remind Me has the # 1 song in America. |
